Adopt a Highway:

Another successful pick up of Highway 115, thanks to all who came to assist. I am very thankful to say Will has agreed to be to coordinator of the Adopt A Highway for 2012. Thanks so much Will. Other Class Updates:

Meredith Luber will be taking over Thursday 7:30-8:45 pm Hatha class beginning 1/5/12

Amy Schneider has taken over the Friday 9:30-11:00 am class.

Helen Mason has taken on the Sunday 6:30-8:00 pm Hatha class. ***Please note the Tuesday 6 am class will be taught by Marjorie 2/14/12***

Kim will be teaching a restorative yoga Fridays at 11:30 am

Marjorie, (11-11:45 am on Monday) and Stephanie, (1-1:45 pm on Friday) will be teaching the Express classes this quarter. All money gained is being donated to the Cornelius Animal Shelter. Thank you ladies.

Hatha Yoga w/ Kim from 6:15-7:15 pm.

Sacred Women's Circle: Come to meet some wonderful women, kirtan, meditaion and discussion. Our next 2 gatherings are planned and we hope you will be able to come to contribute to the evening. On 2/3/12 there will be a viewing of "Yoga Women. Then on 3/2/12 we will be offering Women's Self Defense discussion w/ Marilyn Kelly from the House of Soke. Marilyn will be hosting a workshop on March 25th, see flyer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Community Yoga Charity for 2012 - Cornelius Animal Shelter

We offer our Seva project 2012 to the Cornelius Animal Shelter. At Community Yoga there are many animal loving teachers/students/children, so the fit seemed perfect. Stacey Barnet will head up our efforts and she will keep you informed on how you too can assist. In advance we thank you all for your support. Please contact Stacey at 704-408-1599.

The Cornelius Animal Shelter is a special project operated by the Town of Cornelius to provide the best possible service to animal populations in our Town. All volunteers, past and present, are directly responsible providing a outstanding care for animals coming into our facility. The shelter is also supported financially by the Cornelius Animal Shelter Alliance (CASA). CASA provides funding for medical wellness programs and equipment at the shelter.

Our next benefit workshop will be a Womens Self Defense Workshop, taught by expert Marilyn Kelly from The House of Soke on 3/24/12 at 1 - 3 pm.

 

 

 

We offer weekly workshops with local and national talents, covering a wide range of topics.
1. Community Class, Free/Donations accepted.(always first Sunday of the month), 6:00-7:00 pm. The teacher will be Beth Grasso.

2. 2012 Subtle Yoga Teacher Training and Personal Transformation Program with Kaoverii Weber www.subtleyoga.com a 250-hour certification at Community Yoga Studio, Cornelius, NC begins March 2012. See www.subtleyoga.com for details.

3. Awareness Acceptance Action - Balance an over-scheduled life through Yoga, Breathwork and Meditation. Set personal and professional goals Live your best life! Cost is FREE. February 4th 1pm-3pm. Taught by Laurie.

3. Partner Yoga Workshop - Experience the deep stretch of partner yoga. Grab a partner or come alone to Community Yoga. February 18th 1pm-3pm. Taught by Amy.

3. Yoga Nidra Workshop - Experience Deep Peace, Enjoy an extended guided meditation in savasana, and Learn techniques for relaxing self massage. March 17th 1pm-3pm. Taught by Kim.

Yoga Express for Less - Monday and Friday only

This 45 minute class is Community Yoga's way of giving back to our students as well as offering new students an opportunity to take advantage of a discounted price of $5 per class. Monday 11-11:45am and Friday 1-1:45 pm (No classes passes that includes Monthly, 5 class, and 10 class passes- are NOT accepted for this class due to the already low cost.)

Community Yoga was formed in December 2004 with a vision to create a place where people from all backgrounds will gather and celebrate as a community.

Our intention is to produce an environment where all are welcome and where they can come for the "stretch" and leave with much more. Classes are open to students of all levels.
